We had the privilege of working with a lovely client on her stunning home in Caledonia Street, Paddington, where the project was thoughtfully completed in three stages to suit her budget and vision. The result? A fully transformed home with modern, functional, and beautiful spaces throughout.
Stage 1: Carport Makeover
The first stage focused on the carport, which had an aging, leaky, and rusted sheet metal roof. We removed the old roof and replaced it with a sleek, modern twin-walled polycarbonate roof in black. This upgrade not only enhanced the carport’s look but also allowed natural light to flood the front of the house, adding brightness and warmth.
Stage 2: Ground Floor Renovation
The second stage saw a complete transformation of the ground floor. We began by installing a brand new powder room with contemporary finishes, and then moved on to laying timber floors throughout, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As part of the overhaul, we also installed a hydronic heating system to keep the home cozy during colder months.
On the first level, the bathroom and laundry were completely reworked with a remote-controlled skylight to bring in even more natural light. The ensuite was refreshed, and the existing parquetry floors were carefully resanded and polished, restoring their beauty and charm.
Stage 3: Self-Contained Granny Flat
The final stage of the renovation was dedicated to transforming the lower subterranean room into a fully self-contained granny flat. This required us to waterproof the moisture-prone retaining walls with hydronics and high-build render. We installed a new kitchenette, a stylish bathroom, and beautiful timber floors throughout.
We also designed and installed custom steel-framed doors with Anita windows on both sides, opening up to a gorgeous new black butt deck, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living. A rejuvenated garden area completed the look, providing a peaceful retreat for the homeowner.
Final Touches
The entire home was freshly painted, both inside and out, ensuring a modern, cohesive finish. The client was absolutely delighted with the results, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have been part of this transformative project.
